Bishop Thomas Paprocki, of the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois, issued a statement yesterday that pro-abortion, and Catholic, Senator Dick Durbin is not permitted to receive communion in his diocese. Gus asks listeners whether or not they agree with that.

Later, Jacqui Rapp, our Seize the Day canon lawyer who also serves the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky, joins us to answer listeners' questions about annulments.

I believe that a lot of us tend to make comments and express our opinions without know y’all the facts. The bishop is not only acting in an expression of love for another human being but according to cannon law, I forgive all those who answer enraged and pray they will find calm to read and seek answers before making up their opinions. I believe the bishop’s actuions are to be commended and I wish more bishops joined him. My priest told me if he came to his parish he wouldn’t be able to receive communion either.
