Gus plays a clip that went viral from the final blessing at mass Holy Family Catholic Church in Inverness, Illinois where a priest gave the final blessing with a guitar and used many rock and roll references. He gets listener reaction and also asks them if they've ever experienced a priest going "off-script" or riffing and how it went over.
Later, Gus talks about how, growing up, his dad was a notorious swearer. He'd often invite his buddies over to watch football games or have a barbecue and they'd cuss up a storm. Gus says that it's something he's struggled with his whole life and has several expletive replacements. He invites listeners to call in and share their favorite expletive replacements.
And, Deacon Ed Meding joins Gus in the Conversion Corner. He grew up in the Lutheran faith and, as he got older, struggled with depression and alcohol. After experiencing a miraculous healing which led his wife to begin attending church services, Ed's road to the Catholic faith began. He shares his story with Gus and his listeners.
