Fr. Mark-Mary Ames calls in to talk about his new book, “The Father: 30 Meditations to Draw You Into the Heart of Your Dad.” He shares his vocation journey with Gus and the listeners and talks about how, through this book, he hopes to lead readers on a month-long journey that will unveil the boundless love of God the Father. Afterwards, Gus talks more about how our relationship with our earthly father can impact our relationship with our heavenly one. He talks about his relationship with his late father and invites listeners to call in and share their relationship with their earthly fathers.
Later, John Bacon joins Gus in the Conversion Corner. John grew up in a Southern Baptist Church in Arkansas and was home-schooled through 8th grade. He went to high school at a private Lutheran school and, after graduation, went to Divinity school, which led him to missionary work in South America. He eventually became an Anglican priest and this is where his journey towards Catholicism began and he shares that journey with Gus and the listeners.
And, Gus does his daily Lenten reading and reflection on Psalm 51.
