Gus continues celebrating National Marriage Week by welcoming Sheila Weber, executive director of National Marriage Week USA, to the program. She talks about how the week has its roots in England in the late-1990s and how her organization brought it to the United States in 2010. One key element of marriage that Gus and Sheila discussed was marital healing. At some point, every marriage goes through a rough patch that involves healing and forgiveness in order to thrive. Gus invites married listeners to call in and share their marital healing stories.
Also, Gus welcomes Katie Curtis to the Conversion Corner. Katie is a musician and a blogger and a Catholic revert. She talks about how, although she was raised in a Catholic household, her parents weren't regular churchgoers and she did receive regular catechesis but it wasn't very inspiring. By the time she was 10, she was agnostic. Her turning point came when she enrolled in an evangelical college and got involved playing Christian music. She shares her journey back to the Church with Gus and his listeners. If you'd like to listen to any of Katie's original music, check it out here.
Gus,
thank you for being here for us!
I just found a wonderful book (less than 90 pages) that is a thorough joy to the heart. It is by Don Dolindo Ruotolo. St. Padre Pio said “all of heaven is in him.” He was also a stigmatized priest.
The book is: A MONTH WITH MARY, DAILY MEDITATIONS FOR A PROFOUND REFORM OF HEART IN THE SCHOOL OF MARY.
It can be purchased from the very fine religious at: The Academy of the Immaculate, or the Franciscans of the Immaculate (bulk from the printer) of New Bedford, MA. To find the book, search Fr. Ruotolo’s name on their website.
The Academy of the Immaculate ships very quickly. Thirty books can be purchased for a total of $30.00 (which includes shipping).
This book allows us to look inside ourselves in ways we may have never thought of before. It also gives the remedy for our own personal ills. May we all have a profound reform of heart!
Thanks again for everything!
