Gus announces that he has tested positive for COVID. He talks about his symptoms and what led him to get tested and the subsequent results. He does say that he did not get vaccinated and talks about the national discussion about the vaccinated vs. the unvaccinated and how it's tearing our country, and our Church, apart. He talks with listeners about their experiences with COVID-19.
Later, Fr. Leo Patalinghug calls in to talk about a myriad of things with Gus, including Gus' breaking news about his COVID diagnosis. Fr. Leo also talks with Gus about the politicization of the virus and gives an update on his food truck, Plating Grace & Grub.

Good morning Gus!! It’s so good to hear your live voice again today! I just want you to know that you and Michelle have been in my daily Rosary since you announced your positive test.
I especially appreciate your show today and how you so adeptly addressed the ‘spirituality’ of Covid and the shot… and how this has caused so much division and judgement among us.
I’m almost 80, healthy, had the virus (VERY SICK!!) before it was called Covid, still experience some shortness of breath and have no intention of having the shot. I’ve done my research and have made what I think is an informed decision. It really hurts to be judged for that decision.
I’m so thankful for your and Michelle’s recovery and continue to keep you in my prayers.

I too have noticed he has been back off the air since he announced he caught the virus.

Dear Gus,
I am sorry to hear you have contracted Covid and will pray for your speedy recovery. I believe you will do fine. Both my wife and I got Covid last year around Thanksgiving. My wife was 77 at the time and with some additional issues and I was 70 and pretty healthy for my age. She had a few days in the hospital, but did fine with remdesivir and I had about 12 days of not the greatest of times , but have felt worse though perhaps not that long.

I believe Gus was not LIVE on air today, August 13, 2021. I pray that he is OK and hasn’t taken a turn for the worse with SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19). If he needs the therapeutic, please have him request REGEN-COV—infusion or Sub-Q. God Bless.
