Gus is joined by Theresa Burke, founder of Rachel's Vineyard, a ministry devoted to helping women, and men, find recovery and healing following the trauma of an abortion. She talks with Gus about how and why she started the ministry, what they do to help women through this, how so many in the medical community don't take abortion trauma seriously and how women, and men, can contact them through their revamped Web site. Afterwards, Gus invites women who've had an abortion to call in and share how that experience affected them and whether or not they've gone through or begun the healing process. We hear from a few brave women who elaborate on what an incredible trauma it is.

Also, today is the Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church. It's a very new feast, instituted by Pope Francis in 2018, so Gus invites listeners to call in and share their relationship with the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us!

RV is a marvelous opportunity for women and men to receive post-abortive healing. Nearly 5 yrs ago I attended a RV retreat. But prior to going, I worked with my spiritual director who was so so supportive and helpful in preparing me. The men and women who were there from the RV team really were so special to us retreatants. They guided us with love, no judgment, only healing. While I can only speak for myself, I would strongly encourage any of your listeners to continue to pray, discern, and consider a retreat. It will move your heart and lift the burden. It will take time…but the healing process does occur; not over nite…but through the blessing of Jesus and our spiritual parents (Mother Mary and St Joseph) as well as the Holy Spirit, the graces of healing do happen. I did two special things for my child, 1st I had her name added to the Memorial to the Unborn in my state & 2ndly I had a mass said for her. These were small steps for me…but an acknowledgment of her and of my motherhood. God Bless and praying for you all. Thank you for listening
