Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, which commemorates her first encounter with the three children in Fatima. Gus talks a little about the story, which took place in 1917 and his visit to the cathedral there in 2017. Gus invites listeners who’ve visited a Marian shrine or had any sort of profound experience with the Blessed Virgin Mary to call in and talk about it.
Also, Gus welcomes Catholic author Susan De Bartoli on the show this morning to talk about a new devotional she wrote called “Welcoming the Holy Spirit with Padre Pio,” available from Ave Maria Press. In it, she tells the story of Padre Pio and talks about his wisdom and humility and shows us how we can use our unique spiritual gifts to love others and draw from the well of faith to encounter Christ in profound ways.
