Gus talks about a phenomenon known as a "confluence of dates," or feast days that correspond with important times in our lives, and asks listeners to call in with special dates in their lives that fall on important days in the life of the Church.
Gus goes over some news/notes, including Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston Cardinal Daniel DiNardo suffering a mild stroke over the weekend and a federal court upholding a ruling that the state of Ohio may proceed with their decision to defund Planned Parenthood. Also, he talks about a couple more news items, including the shootings that took place at in Christchurch, New Zealand and that it's further evidence of the existence of evil in the world.
I listened on Monday to the rebroadcast, so could not call in. My confluence of dates is as follows. My husband (now of nearly 49 years) and I were told we would never have children. Back then, I had no idea the church did not support any artificial means of becoming pregnant, but I had a Jewish (Army) doctor, who told me I did not want to do anything artificial. We never did, but God blessed us in His time with two beautiful children conceived naturally.. We learned of our 1st baby to come, our beautiful daughter, on the July 26, the feast of Sts. Joachim and Anne, the Blessed Mother’s parents. God is indeed good! Our son was baptized on August 6, the Feast of the Transfiguration. I found out I had cancer (13 years ago) on Good Friday. A gift, as I could offer something up as Christ had done. I have a blessed life.
