Noted Catholic author and theologian Dr. Matthew Bunson joins Gus to talk about all the crazy things going on in the world and in our country right now, including the public protests, the reopening of churches and some of the ridiculous standards put on churches in order to gather in worship. He and Gus also discuss a few international items, including the recent arrest of a businessman at the Vatican over luxury property purchase in London and the Chinese government telling churches that in order to reopen from the coronavirus quarantine, they need to preach patriotism.
Also, Catholic dioceses across the country are still in a weird position where some are open for Sunday mass while others are still closed. Add to it that the ones that are open face government restrictions for gathering while people gather en masse to protest racism without facing any restrictions and very little criticism. Gus says that although the freedom to assemble is just as important as our freedom to worship, on the surface, it looks like an incredible double standard. Gus talks with listeners what their mass experience was like this past weekend.
And, since there's so much bad news going on in the world, Gus does an hour of good news with Tell Me Something Good.
