Gus begins today with a couple of big announcements. First, on December 15th, he'll be hosting a Seize the Day breakfast with listeners at his parish, St. Timothy's in Lutz, Florida. If you can make your way to the Tampa area of Florida, you're invited! You can learn the details by visiting his Facebook page.

Second, he's hosting this party because it'll be his retirement party. After 46 years in radio, and the last 19 here at the Catholic Channel, Gus is hanging up his headphones and microphone. Afterwards, Gus opens up the phones for Tell Me Something Good, and, in addition to hearing listeners' good news, he gets well-wishes and heavy hearts from callers.

Later, Carol Berry joins Gus in the Conversion Corner. She grew up in Alabama in various evangelical denominations and shares her incredible story with Gus and his listeners.

Thank you for your years of wisdom and worship which got me to work every day. Thank you for your education and encouragement in all things Catholic. Thank you for praying for us all and for hearing our prayer requests. Thank you for setting me straight on your intro to the daily readings- I always thought it was “open the Bible and you’ve chosen life”. 😁

May God continue to bless you and your family as you enter this new chapter of life.

Gus I have learned so much over the years as a result of the show. I received three months of free Sirius XM and found your show on my way to work back in 2004. I attended Catholic school for 12 years and am a practicing catholic. However, your show educated me a great deal on the scripture and doctrine. Thanks for being such a blessing you deserve a great retirement enjoy.

So many hours with you… wow. I don’t even know what to say. I have bragged you up to everyone I know. I have purchased all your minute in the church books, and shared with MY parish family. They have all received so much from them. I hope they will always be available somehow. I just purchased my last one (100 copies) so I’m glad for that. I saw you once in Kansas. It was a great retreat.

Good morning child of God. I am so so happy for you on hearing of your retirement. It is a wonderful time in a person’s life. But how I grieve not being able to hear new wisdom from you daily. You have touched my son’s and my life every morning for quite a while. We listen to you as I drive him to work. You are a blessing. We will now pray every morning for you whenI take him to work. Enjoy retirement with your bride.

Congratulations on your retirement, Gus! Your show has brought a lot of insight and inspiration into my days and I will miss your voice on my radio! I hope you truly enjoy retirement and, unlike me, that you can get into retirement in the spirit of celebration – it took me 4 or 5 tries to really be comfortable with retirement. I finally think I’ve got it now. God Bless you and your bride in the joyful years ahead!

Gus, Congratulations on your retirement after such an extraordinary career in broadcasting and ministry. I learned this morning of your decision to retire. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I always take your to work with me on my long drive in the mornings. Your voice, wisdom, and joyful spirit have touched countless lives, and your daily reflections have been a source of inspiration and encouragement to me for many years. As you step into this new chapter, may it be filled with peace, joy, and the same faith-filled energy you’ve shared with your listeners for decades. Thank you for helping so many of us grow in our faith. You will be greatly missed. With gratitude and best wishes,
    Scott

Gus learned so much over the years from you. As I grow older my Catholic religion is so much more important to me and my wife. It’s been nice listening even the times we didn’t agree on certain subjects. So my prayers go out to you and your wife for a happy retirement. God Bless 🙏💖
