Gus focuses a lot on the early Church fathers today. First up, he reads and reflects on Clement of Alexandria's Miscellanies (Stromata) written in the early part of the 3rd century AD in today's edition with Friday w/the Fathers. Afterwards, he talks with Catholic author Rod Bennett about his new book, "Four More Witnesses in the Early Church: Further Testimony from Christians Before Constantine."
Later, Bishop William Wack, of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, Florida, calls in to talk about his pastoral letter on evangelization, which draws much of its inspiration from the early Church fathers.
Also, tomorrow is the Feast of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini and Gus recounts a story he heard from a friend once who said she prays to Mother Cabrini whenever she needs to find a parking spot. It goes like this, "Dear Mother Cabrini, help me find a space for my machine-y." Gus asks listeners to call in and share a prayer they say for "inconsequential" things.
And, it's Friday so Gus gets in a little Prayer Time with listeners.
