We talk again today with people who’ve struggled with infertility. On his recent trip to the Holy Land, Gus visited the Chapel of the Milk Grotto in Bethlehem (pictured below) where Catholic tradition says is the place where the Holy Family found refuge during the “slaughter of the innocents”, before they could flee to Egypt. The name, Milk Grotto, is derived from the story that a “drop of milk” of the Virgin Mary fell on the floor of the cave and changed its colour to white. Since being built over the site of a 5th century Byzantine chapel in 1872, it has become a pilgrimage site for couples experiencing infertility.
