Andrew Beckwith, president of the Massachusetts Family Institute, calls in to talk about a court ruling in his state that Fontbonne Academy, an all-girls Catholic school in Milton, Mass., violated state anti-discrimination laws by rescinding a job offer to a cafeteria director after it discovered he was in a same-sex marriage. The ruling suggested that religious freedom exemptions do not apply to the school because it accepts non-Catholic students. Andrew talks about what they’re doing to help appeal this ruling and the dangerous precedent this could set.
Gus also reads an email he got from a listener who lost a child and kind of lashes out at Gus’ daily message. Gus interprets that the author of the email is suggesting that Gus sends a message every day that he’s doing it right because of his faith. Gus sensitively responds to the email letter and invites listeners to call in and talk about when God said “No” to them.
