We’re one day closer to Father’s Day and Gus asks his listeners to call in and talk about the special priests in their lives. After all, they’re fathers too.
And, Kevin Clarke calls in to the show. He’s the senior editor/chief correspondent at America Magazine and he talks about the story of the Galway babies in Ireland that’s been grossly misreported. In case you missed it, the remains of hundreds of babies were recently discovered in Galway, Ireland in a septic tank that once belonged to the Bons Secours Sisters’ St. Mary’s Home for Unwed Mothers, which operated from 1925 to 1961. Kevin attempts to clear the air and give us the facts. To read his article, click here.
Also, we started the show with some very sad news. Hours before Seize the Day began, reports surfaced that one priest was murdered and another severely beaten at Mater Misericordiae Mission in Phoenix, Arizona. Nick VinZant, ABC 15 Phoenix reporter, calls in to give Gus the most recent update. Our prayers go out to Fr. Joseph Terra for a speedy recovery and to Fr. Kenneth Walker who lost his life. Gus lost his brother Glenn to a violent crime 20 years ago and he asks listeners if they’ve ever been a victim of a violent crime and how they dealt with it.
“Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual let shine upon him. May he rest in peace.”
