He is risen! Alleluia! (Boy, it seems like a long time since we’ver heard that word!) Happy Easter!
Today we celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord. This is the greatest day of the Church year. The day that sin and death were defeated, put in their place. Even death could not hold the Son of God. And this is what the Good News is all about.
Death seems so final. But it is not. For us, death will be only another leg on the journey. Like Jesus, it is not the end of the story. Because like Jesus, we, too, will rise again. St. Paul tells us as much in our second reading today. “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.”
You see, the Resurrection is what gives us hope. It is what enables us to lead a life free of fear. I pray that you and your family have a very Happy Easter, and the Resurrection of Christ will live in you and shine through you always.
Happy Easter Gus! He is risen!
