Gus talks about mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral yesterday where NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife Chirlane in attendance as part of his tour of local churches as a response to the shootings in Dallas, Louisiana and Minnesota last week. He played several clips from Cardinal Dolan’s homily, which addressed the bloody week. Cardinal Dolan linked them to Sunday’s first reading, where Moses tells the children of Israel to keep and obey God’s commandments and, when something is broken, God is the ultimate instruction manual.

Then, Gus talks about the Prefect for the Vatican’s Congregation for Divine Worship & the Discipline of the Sacraments Cardinal Robert Sarah’s urging of priests to offer the Eucharistic Prayer at mass ad orientem this Advent season; that is, facing “liturgical East” with his back facing the congregation. He gets listener reaction. Many callers support this idea but those who oppose it say it appears that the priest is “turning his back on us.”

Later on, the Catholic Guy Lino Rulli joins Gus to announce together the “God Bless Ya Brother Pilgrimage II,” January 28th to February 6th 2017. To find out more information and when and how to sign up, click here.
