Looking for Jesus

Posted on

In the Gospel reading today from Mark 1, Jesus leaves early in the morning, before the sun came up, to go off to a deserted place to pray. Simon and the other disciples pursued him and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

That phrase really struck me. I think it is true, even to this day. Everyone is looking for Jesus. Thing is, most people don’t even know it. They’re not sure what they’re looking for. They’re looking for love, comfort, healing – all things that Jesus offers. Unfortunately, most people are searching in all the wrong places.

Chances are you know someone like that. They may think they know what they’re looking for. But they won’t find it in a pill, in a bottle, in a club, in a relationship, in material things. They can only find it in Jesus. Will you help them find the way to Him?

Father, thank you for helping us to find your Son, Jesus. May we show the way to Him to those who are still looking for Him. Amen.
