Today's first reading is from the Letter of Saint Jude. This is one of the shortest books in the Bible, just 25 verses. Saint Jude has an important message for us.
"On those who waver, have mercy; save other by snatching them out of the fire; on other have mercy with fear, abhorring even the outer garment stained by the flesh."
I don't know about you, but I often lack mercy. I can be very hard on myself, which generally makes me be hard on others. That needs to stop. Many people are wavering today; we see it everywhere. Rather than being harsh, let's have mercy.
Father, as you have mercy on us, may we have mercy on others. Amen.
