Friday means Prayer Time on Seize the Day and Gus takes prayer intentions from his listeners.
Also, last night, President Obama announced air strikes on ISIS factions in Iraq, partially in support of the 50,000 Christians, including women and children, who are stranded on various mountains and are being systematically starved to death. Gus asks his listeners if they support this or not. To read more about the situation in Iraq, click here.
We also had two Dominicans on today, in honor of St. Dominic’s feast day. First, Sister Mary Madeline of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia in Nashville, Tennessee calls in to talk about the order and its history. To learn more about the sisters, click here.
And then we hear from Fr. Gabriel Gillen, executive director of the Dominican Foundation, and the host of “Word to Life” on the Catholic Channel. In addition to explaining the history of St. Dominic and his order, Fr. Gillen also talks about the record number of 70 seminarians currently studying for the priesthood within the order. St. Dominic, pray for us.
