Today is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Order of Friars Minor and perhaps still one of the most popular saints, nearly 800 years after his death. He talks about the saint's unique life and legacy, which spans across the world on every continent and has for centuries. Later on, Fr. David Convertino, OFM, who serves as the executive director of the Franciscan Missionary Union of the Holy Name Province, calls in to talk about the Order of Friars Minor and some of its inner workings and history. He also shares his vocation story and what attracted him to the Franciscans.
Also, the influence of St. Francis of Assisi's order is in just about every nook and cranny of our culture. Gus invites listeners to call in and share how St. Francis, or his order, have helped shape their faith lives.
St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
Kim,
You can listen for up to a week on the SXM app. Thanks for listening!
Gus, I was fascinated by your St Frances story this morning. How can I hear the second half? I had to go into work and couldn’t finish listening on Sirius FM
