The long-awaited McCarrick Report, which details the sordid sexual abuse history and rise to prominence of disgraced ex-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, was released yesterday by the Vatican. Gus reads the Executive Summary and then goes over some of the details with Dr. Matthew Bunson, Washington bureau chief for EWTN News. Later, Gus mentions how he posted the McCarrick Report to his social media yesterday and got a few responses from people who said this is why they're considering leaving the Church because of this. He invites listeners to call in and give their reactions.

The most revolting thing about this and Mr. Lloyd alluded to it i a cautious way, "no one has or probably will not be held accountable ( unless dead and cannot comment) and punished. If there was true remorse for the stigma this un holy man placed upon the Church, there would have been heads rolling. The general answer seems, he was so gracious, overwhelmed our thinking, or some such rot. Until, and yes St John Paul must be included, there is a closure on this looking the other way, you can kiss the evangelism program good bye. Who would want to join a church that does not require accountability.
