Gus reads of few excerpts from San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone's 17-page pastoral letter released this past weekend which addresses Catholics in public life, being pro-abortion and the reception of the the Eucharist while promoting grave sin. Afterwards, Gus discusses it with listeners.
Later, Phil Lawler, Catholic author and editor of Catholic World Report and Catholic Culture, calls in to talk about his new book "Contagious Faith: Why the Church Must Spread Hope, Not Fear, in a Pandemic." Phil and Gus talk about times over this past year of COVID where the Church leaders and laity made mistakes and acted as champions of faith during the pandemic.
And, in Gus' conversation with Lila Rose yesterday, she talked about the undercover work she did early in her career in order to expose Planned Parenthood. She told him that she received a good amount of blow-back regarding the ethics of undercover journalism and using deception to try and reach a good end. Gus invites listeners to call in and share how they feel about that.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I read it this morning and it explained the Church’s position in an honest, thoughtful and loving way.
Thank goodness this has finally been publicly addressed. Now lets all keep the message going and pass on God’s word.
I am glad someone in the media is speaking up about this issue. I have been very disappointed in our priests, Bishops and Cardinals because they seem to be afraid of speaking out. I judge that they are afraid to offend.
Gus, my friend, as always, you are truly a messenger for God! Keep up the fabulous work!!
