Later, Dr. Matthew Bunson of EWTN calls in to talk about some Catholic news items of interest, including the persecution of the Catholic Church in Nicaragua by Marxist dictator Daniel Ortega. They also talk about Pope Francis referring to as gender ideology as the worst form of ideological colonization and a new Disney documentary on LGBTQ+ issues that features Pope Francis talking with Gen Z kids. They wrap it up with the news of the heirs of Pope Benedict XVI and the dispersal of his earthly belongings.
Afterwards, Gus goes over some new statistics released from the Vatican that show the number of Catholics worldwide has increased but that the number of priests and religious in the world has decreased. There's also a disproportionate ratio of priests to religious worldwide.
