Lent is finally here! Gus kicks it off by talking about the spiritual significance of Ash Wednesday and gives examples of good Lenten sacrifices and bad ones (for example, using Lent as a weight loss program). He also talks about how these 40 days can be like spiritual Spring training if we approach it that way.

Gus dedicates the rest of the show to talk with listeners about what they're giving up or taking on for their Lenten journey.

    I listen to your show in the car usually on Friday mornings.
    My question is about lent. I’ve recently heard people say you don’t have to keep your fast (the thing you gave up) on Sunday! I never remember that from childhood.

    I just caught part of your show discussing what people are giving up for lent. I was to understand that you shouldn’t boast or even really discuss your sacrifices being made.
