Hi Gus. I listen to your show every morning on my way to work. I’m especially troubled by all that is going on within the church, but more so for my fellow Catholics considering leaving the church. One thing that I am confident about regarding the recent scandals is that I am most definitely a follower and member of Christ’s church. If this were not the true church of Christ, Satan wouldn’t waste his energy trying to destroy it in such a horrific way. It truly breaks my heart to hear people calling in saying they want to run. We are not part of this faith because of the clergy, we are here because we believe in the teachings of Christ, the Eucharist and the fact that this is the ONLY church that came from Him and has survived all these years despite the corruption within its very walls. Not only do the victims of these heinous crimes need our prayers, but so do the men who committed them and the ones who have covered it up. As Catholic Christians, we need to be concerned for their souls. While they may have very well ruined several lives while here on earth, their very own eternal lives are in grave danger. May we remember that God’s mercy and grace are much bigger than any sins we commit. Be blessed!
