Gus opens up on the recent clergy sex abuse scandal at the hands of Cardinal Theodore McCarrick and openly questions how a man like this can get to the position of cardinal. Through it all, though, Gus maintains that sinful men like this, who make it to the positions of priest or bishop or cardinal, should never cause us to divorce ourselves from the Eucharist and the Church. He gets listener reaction.

Gus, My husband and I listen to yous show when we can. For the past 3 weeks we were on holiday for our 47th wedding anniversary so we listened to you every dy from June 8 tho June 27. We were very interested in your comments about Cardinal McCarrick. My husband is a deacon in the Archdiocese of Washington DC. He was ordained by Cardinal McCarrick. He worked with us for about 2 years. He was a good and holy man with us just like you said about your priest at your parish. It is hard to believe the man we knew would do something like that. You never know. He says he did not do it. How do you believe a man who could not remember what happened for 50 years? There are a lot of money hungry people in this world. We should not be judging people when we have only hearsay to go by. He is a good and holy man. Maybe you will understand when it is your good and holy priest. Let God do the judging. Marie Chrz

Gus, She is right about corruption at the highest level. If the third secret of Fatima were revealed, I am certain that this is what it would say. Why else would it not be revealed if it didn’t incriminate them? In fact, I believe that some recent changes in the church are not from God. Jesus told us that “Blessed are those who die for righteousness sake.” We do need to pray for each other every day that we may discern what is righteous.

I felt that your comments on this topic crossed the line. Yes this is a deeply disturbing story that is still unfolding but the specifics of what Cardinal McCarrick did with seminarians did not need to be shared on the airwaves. If I am not mistaken Archbishop Sheen had foretold of a time when the priesthood would be infiltrated at the highest levels. Also I would look into the plan of the Masons to destroy the Catholic Church. Prayer is needed!!!
