Gus is back for his first live broadcast of 2024!
He begins by continuing a New Year's tradition of scriptural resolutions with Bible Roulette. He focuses on the New Testament and invites listeners to call in and pick a number between 1010 and 1394 and picks a random Scripture passage for them to carry with them throughout the year. It's an exercise in "randomness" and hopes that it provides a little supernatural focus for them.
Later, Catholic author Kristen Van Uden calls in to talk about her new book from Sophia Institute Press entitled "When the Sickle Swings: Stories of Catholics Who Survived Communist Oppression." She talks about the enticements of communism and why it's still being propagated, even in our own country, but it's godlessness creates a natural tension that eventually leads to oppression. She shares some incredible stories of Catholics who were able to survive some of the brutal Soviet, Cuban, Chinese and other communist regimes.
