Gus' main focus today is Scripture and he talks about life verses, that is, Bible verses people used to keep them focused on God's word throughout their lives. Gus says his is 1 Peter 4: 7-11. He invites listeners to call in and share their Bible life verse. And later, Gus plays Bible Roulette with listeners and focuses on the New Testament. He invites listeners to call in and pick a number between 1010 and 1394, which are the pages in his New American Bible. Gus will plunk his finger on the page and start reading the sentence. He also gives the option of Dealer's Choice where Gus will randomly pick the page and the verse.
Also, Dr. Matthew Bunson, EWTN News Washington bureau chief calls in to go over the latest Catholic news with Gus, including the resignation of Cardinal Robert Sarah, the prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, the proposed Equality Act and its possible consequences, the abolition of the death penalty in the state of Virginia and an update on the prosecution of vandals who tore down a statue of St. Junipero Serra on private property last summer.
