Gus talks about altar serving and shares a story about when he served as a kid and passed out on the altar. Afterward, he invites listeners who've served or who have or had children who served to call in and share their experiences.
Later, Gus welcomes Marcy Kelleher in the Conversion Corner. She grew up in the Reformed Baptist Church and had some anti-Catholic leanings but, not surprisingly, it was hearing a talk given by Dr. Scott Hahn that opened up her mind to it. She tells Gus and the listeners the rest of her story.
And, Dr. Grazie Pozo Christie of the Catholic Association calls in. She is a radiologist who composed an amicus brief for the Supreme Court justices for the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case, and she calls in to refute comments made by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayer who, during the oral arguments last week in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, referred to the science of fetal pain as "fringe science." She also compared the child in the womb and a corpse saying that fetal movements recoiling from pain are similar to reflexes in dead bodies.
After hearing the comments from another “good” Catholic, Justice Sotomayer, it is really irrelevant what the science at this point says or does not say about pain reception . Justice Sotomayer supports the killing of the child or child-to-be regardless of what she calls it or when “it” feels pain. What an awful argument to make on her part.
