Gus talks about Catholic tradition, i.e., the Latin mass, Gregorian chant, incense, etc, and that there are a number of people in the Church today who believe that a return to all that will bring about a welcome change that will make Catholicism more visible and stronger. Gus asks his listeners where they stand on tradition on a scale of 1 to 10, one being a propagator of the clown mass and liturgical dancing and 10 being the traditional Latin mass, altar rails and kneeling without kneelers, and where they think the Catholic Church as a whole stands today.

And later, Bob Dunning calls in to go this weekend's best college football matchups, including Iowa v. Michigan, Ohio State v. Michigan State, Auburn v. Florida and Cal v. Oregon.

Hope, joy and love is what being a Catholic is all about. Treating our fellow human beings with respect. Chanting in Latin and going to church in a somber, crabby manner is not what being Catholic is all about. Be joyful as the Jews were in today’s first reading. Celebrate our God!
