Gus is joined by married Catholic authors, Sarah and Andrew Swafford, who talk about their new book, "Gift and Grit: How Heroic Virtue Can Change Your Life and Relationships." Sarah is the founder of Emotional Virtue Ministries and Andrew is a professor of theology at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. They talk about their goal with the book, which is to inspire a deeper look at the healing, forgiveness and transformation we desperately desire in our relationships and how it starts with seeking a deeper relationship with God.
Later, Gus talks about how, during Monday's Tell Me Something Good segment, a listener called up and shared a miracle healing experienced by her grandson. She had called up several times and asked for prayers during our Prayer Time segment and asked for prayers for him. Gus invites listeners to call and share a story of a child in their lives who experienced a miraculous healing.
Also, today is the birthday of Pope St. John Paul II. He was born 103 years ago and had one of the longest and most influential papacies in the history of the Church, at 27 years. He reigned from 1979 until his death in 2005. Gus invites listeners to call in and share any memories they have of Pope St. John Paul II.
And Gus shares a story out of Los Angeles where the Los Angeles Dodgers have disinvited a group of anti-Catholic drag performers known as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence from their LGBTQ+ Pride Night after an outcry by many groups, including several Catholic leaders. The group was also set to receive a "Community Hero Award."
Pope St. John Paul II, pray for us!
