Gus shares a story out of the California State Legislature where Michael Williams, aka Sister Roma of the anti-Catholic group the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, was honored there for his activism. The event was met with protest by many Republican lawmakers as well several Catholics who stood outside and held a prayer vigil. California Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones remarked, "Were this group to spread hateful messages about Jews, Muslims, Hindus, or any other religion, Democrats would certainly not extend this invitation." Gus opens the phones up for listener response.
Also, Fr. Leo Patalinghug calls in to chat with Gus about some very Catholic things. They start off talking about the title of reverend and its use by the Catholic Church. There's "reverend," "very reverend" and "most reverend." Fr. Leo breaks it all down and who gets what title. Sticking with titles, they also talk about the term "pastor" and the initials that follow priests who belong to a religious order. It leads to a conversation about canon law, other Catholic-ese like letters and acronyms and a host of other things.
I went to the Prayerful procession in lot 13 at Dodger Stadium. It was almost an out of Body Experience praying the Rosary with thousands of people united it 1 thing, rising up and showing up for Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our Holy Mother, and our women religious! We prayed for the offensive Catholic Hate Group too.
