Gus reads and reflects on a Catholic News Agency article that breaks down a new study released by Pew Research which shows that 50% of U.S. adults have a connection to Catholicism. He goes over what that means and then invites listeners who’ve either left and come back to the Catholic faith or know someone who have to call in and share their stories.

Later, Bob Dunning calls in to talk about his sports broadcasting career and how he dislikes covering soccer despite its immense worldwide popularity. Gus brings up a few other sports with acquired taste in tennis and golf and asks Bob what his feeling are on those. Gus also continues the recent tradition of giving Bob a secret word to use at some point in the conversation after the first four minutes. Today’s word is “reconstitute.”

And before playing his Magnetic Christianity audio chapter on “Compassion,” Gus talks about the new season of “The Chosen” and airs some of his grievances about moves the program has made to make it not as readily available as it once was.

Gus, I don’t feel badly about The Chosen getting a relationship with Amazon Prime. I’ve been a background extra for 3 different seasons and seeing all the equipment and the work that goes into making each episode, it makes sense to get a “heavy hitter” involved. I’ve been giving since almost the beginning and if I didn’t believe in the product, I wouldn’t give. A lot of people aren’t happy with the change, but I know Dallas Jenkins will be the first one to cry foul if the contract gets iffy or broken. This series has run away on its own merits. Jonathan Roumie is truly an inspiration. He kneels in prayer before the cameras roll. He prays a lot for this to truly be of God. Dallas does too. As a Catholic, I am holy proud that the man playing Jesus is from the Catholic Faith. He is special. During filming of Season, Jonathan was having a hard time. Many Catholics prayed a Rosary, me included. Protestants were praying for him as well. Gus, right after that, Jonathan did a perfect take! You could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. I have felt that in April, filming Season 6. I honestly felt Jonathan was almost personal Cristi. Unbelievable. He wants to get the Catholic perspective as he portrays our Lord, at least it seems that way to me! I’m ok with the changes and eventually all episodes will be on YouTube or the app, besides Prime Video. I pray for ALL working and acting on this beautiful project. God is being praised through it all and isn’t that what it’s all about? Hugs to you and Michelle! Hope to go with you both again one day to The Holy Land! God bless Jerusalem!
