It shows that the decline of Christianity has started to slow down and may have levelled off. It also found that 62% of the U.S. identifies as Christian, so it begs the question, what does being Christian mean? Gus poses that question to listeners and asks them to call in and share.
Later, Bob Dunning calls in and today they discuss music. They talk about favorite songs, Neil Diamond, mix tapes and Bob’s favorite mass hymn. They also talk about earworms and what are some common ones.
At 24 my wife left me, and I was no longer welcomed at the Lord’s Table of Life. My Irish priest was against annulments saying that the Church in America was being far too lenient with divorced Catholics. Going to the prayer garden every day, I identified as an ‘Out of Fellowship Catholic’. Moving to Kentucky, I attended a church where the priest said he could help me. At 73, I have received an annulment and am reconciled to the church.
