Gus talks about the pope's new apostolic exhortation and reads an editorial piece written by Christopher Altieri, and published yesterday on the Catholic World Report's Web site, that analyzes the pope's new document and praises and criticizes his words. Afterwards, Gus talks with listeners about the pope's words.

I tuned in at your call in segment and was floored by the woman who disagreed with you. I wasn’t aware of what was previously discussed but understood her as saying we can’t separate abortion and immigration. Well, abortion is murder…period. Let’s fix that first and then discuss immigration. We all need to take care of one another, I agree. Enjoyed seeing you in Toledo!

Hi Gus, I was listening to your program on my drive into work this morning, and finally had a chance to read the two paragraph’s in Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation that you were speaking about. What I understood from it is that first, ‘the “grave” bioethical questions’ he is writing about is of the sanctity of life, in all forms from conception through natural death, should be and are important to Catholics. I think that Pope Francis did not use a juxtaposition with the migrant issue, more so trying to connect the migrant issue to the sanctity of life in all its forms. As Catholics, we should be inclusive of all life, including the lives and the plight of migrant peoples as well as the unborn, all living persons, and right through life until death. I don’t see paragraphs 101 & 102 as two separate issues at all. Thank you for inviting us to give our thoughts, and keep up the good work you do every day. God bless you!

I think the Pope want to emphasize the importance of Emigration We can not take one agenda over the other. we must be united in all fronts it may not be your experience my beloved brother, however I live up in the northeast and there was a document prepared before your boss Card. Dolan came to the throne in NY, that taught the parish leaders and Coordinators of Pro-life offices at the parish level. No such document or emphasis given to that issue. Let’s be cautious in over simplifying documents to be of the right or left. let’s be Christ to one another as the Gospel teaches us. My Brother I love your program and enjoy every day when going to work I am a DRE at a parish and refer many to the wisdom of your show. May He Continue to bless you and your family brother
