It’s the final Wednesday of Lent. Gus invites listeners to call in and give their Final Lenten Report Card grades.
Also, Gus is joined by Michael Dauphinais, host of the Catholic Theology Show podcast, who shares his faith journey and conversion story. He and Gus talk about how theology is important to both of them, but how important is it to your average Catholic and how does he break it all down in layman’s terms for his listeners. He also shares the genesis of his popular podcast.
And Dr. Matthew Bunson of EWTN News calls in to talk about some important Catholic news items of interest, including Pope Francis gearing up for the Triduum in Rome and writing his own Good Friday Via Crucis at St. Peter’s Basilica. He also starts off talking with Gus about his Lent and how it’s going and offers encouragement to those listeners who feel they haven’t had a good or holy one. He tells them that it’s never too late to start over and penance doesn’t just have to be during Lent. They also talk about the Supreme Court hearing arguments over the FDA’s deregulation of the mail order abortion pill, mifepristone. They wrap up their discussion talking about some Synod news, including Pope Francis laying out some of the themes of the continuation of the Synod on Synodality in October.
