Gus talks about 40 Days for Life, which takes place each year in late September into October. One of the tenets of the movement is to go and pray outside an abortion clinic. A representative was at Gus' church yesterday and remarked that it's very difficult to get parishioners involved. Gus asks listeners why that is.
Also, in reaction to the clergy sex abuse scandal, many callers and Catholics that Gus has talked to outside of the show have stated that the laity needs to hit the Church in the pocketbook in order to get their voices heard. Gus asks listeners if that's a sound tactic.
