Over the weekend, Gus saw the new movie “Conclave,” starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci and John Lithgow. Gus says that he hated the movie and though it was complete woke Hollywood dreck and recommends listeners do not go and see it. He said it made the Vatican and the College of Cardinals look like a soulless corporate entity and that there was no prayer and a deliberate omission of Jesus’ name. He invites listeners who saw it to call in and share their reviews.
Also, Fr. Jeffrey Kirby calls in to talk about his newest book, “Real Discipleship: How to Follow Jesus – His Way, Not Ours.” Fr. Kirby talks with Gus about how true discipleship means following Jesus diligently on the path to the Cross. In the book, Fr. Kirby helps you navigate the straight road by distinguishing truth from falsehood in four areas – the person of Jesus, the example and teachings of the Gospels, living in the manner which the Gospel calls us and the summit of that way of life in true eucharistic worship.
And it's Monday, so Gus opens up the phones for a couple rounds of Tell Me Something Good.
I am curious if you have anything about the “Mary” movie on Netflix.
I would like to see a few other comments on this movie!
Gus, I appreciate your sharing on this!
Nancy,
You can find my review on my Facebook page. God bless!
How do I find your review on Conclave? I’d like to read it, before I decide if I want to see the movie.
thanks
Thanks Gus. I almost went and saw the film but after reading your review I will definitely pass on it.
