Catholic author and theologian John Bergsma calls in to talk about his new book, "The Word of the Lord: Reflections on the Sunday Mass Readings for Year A." John is a former Protestant minister, and he talks about the differences in how many Protestant denominations interpret and implement Scripture into their services and how the Catholic Church uses it in mass.
At the end of Gus' conversation with John, they talked about yesterday's Gospel reading at mass, from Matthew, where Jesus talks with his disciples about his second coming and the end of days. The language Jesus uses is very allegorical and has been interpreted in countless ways through the centuries so Gus invites listeners to call in, and talk about what they think it could be like.
