Yesterday was the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua and, since it fell on a Sunday, it wasn't celebrated in many parishes. Among other things, St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost articles and there are several small invocations that seek help in finding things like lost car keys, wedding rings, etc. It's a tradition on Seize the Day to invite listeners to call in and share their St. Anthony stories and, since we weren't live yesterday, Gus moves it to today.

Later, Séamus Ó Fianghusa calls into the show to talk about his new book "Heaven Help Us, Now!: A Self Help Guide to God’s Own First Responder, St. Jude Thaddeus." He talks a bit about what we know about the saint's origins before launching into why he's invoked as the patron saint of lost causes and shares some fascinating stories attributed to his intercession.

Saint Anthony of Padua and St. Jude Thaddeus, pray for us!

I enjoyed your episode today on St. Anthony. It was interesting that when I turned on SiriusXM , I was looking for something I misplaced. Not only did I finally find it, but I also found the religious medals that belonged to my dad in a place I would never have thought to place to keep it safe. I enjoy listening to your show. God Bless.
    Warmly, Debra
