Gus returns live from being off all of last week for Thanksgiving. He starts off with Catholic author Gary Zimak who calls in to talk about his new book, “Find Peace in Advent!: Four Weeks to Worrying Less at Christmas,” available from Ave Maria Press. This is a companion book to Gary’s best seller, “Give Up Worry for Lent: 40 Days to Finding Peace in Christ.” In it, Gary addresses the unique stressors that come leading up to the holiday season and provides several outlets to finding peace, including daily readings and reflections. Afterwards, Gus gives away copies of Gary’s new book to several lucky listeners who call in and get on the air.
And a few weeks ago, Gus did a segment called “Plug Your Thing,” where he invited listeners to call in and share a charity or organization to which they donate or give their time. One of those groups was the Seven Sisters Apostolate, which seeks to strengthen the Church through a weekly holy hour for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop. Gus is joined by founder Janette Howe who talks about the history of the apostolate, what it does and what it’s all about.
And Gus wraps the show up with a round of Tell Me Something Good with listeners.
Great show. I have been participating in a 7 sister’s group in our parish for the past 6 years. It is a joy to be part of this apostolate. Blessings abound. Thank you for having Janette on the show.
