Yesterday, Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput published an open letter cautioning Catholics against the messages regarding same-sex attraction of noted Catholic speaker/author Fr. James Martin. It led to a polite retort from Fr. Martin on social media. Although Chaput commended some of  Fr. Martin's messages, he said his ones involving same-sex attraction and the Catholic teaching on it areambiguous, confusing and incomplete and tend to undermine his message. Gus gets reaction from listeners.

Gus goes over some recent statistics on abortion from the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute that show a 20% drop in the numbers of abortion between the years 2011 and 2017. Although Gus lauded the drop, he reiterates that the 862,320 babies that were killed in the womb in 2017 is still too much. A caller named Laurie from North Carolina called in to dispute some of Gus' comments on abortion, which launches a discussion with other callers about the role of abortion in our society.

And, as always, Gus engages in a little Friday Prayer Time with listeners.
