Gus talks about the German Synod, which seeks to change Church teaching on same-sex marriage and the priesthood and the possible motivations behind it. In Germany, citizens are taxed based on the church they attend and those tax dollars go to their respective church. Catholics in Germany are leaving in droves and Gus posits the theory that the motives for this "woke" Synod is an attempt to woo people back to the Catholic church. Also in Germany, bishops make an annual salary of around $200,000 a year while diocesan priests make about half that. Are the motives financial? Gus asks listeners what they believe is a fair wage for priests.
Also, in today's edition of Friday with the Fathers, Gus continues St. Hippolytus of Rome's "The Apostolic Tradition" and, later, gets into his Friday Prayer Time with listeners.
