Do you know why you're here? Yes, it's one of those existential questions. But I believe we find the answer in today's first reading from Ephesians 1.
"In Christ we were also chosen, destined in accord with the purpose of the One who accomplishes all things according to the intention of his will, so that we might exist for the praise of his glory, we who first hoped in Christ."
Did you catch that? We exist "for the praise of his glory." We're here to praise God! That truth should shine forth in all that we say and do. Giving God praise and glory should be part and parcel of every area of our lives. Will we fall short? Of course. But the more we keep this in mind - that we're here to glorify God - the more we'll carry out that mission. Praise God!
Father, we give you praise and glory! After all, that's the very reason we're here! Amen.
Please pray for our pilgrimage to the Holy Land over the next 10 days. If you're interested in traveling with me and Michelle, find info on our pilgrimages at www.GusLloyd.com.
