What Christ Accomplishes Through You

Posted on

Today's Gospel reading from Luke 16 is Jesus' parable about the dishonest steward. In the parable, the master commends the steward, not for his dishonesty, but for his prudence in dealing with people.

In the first reading from Romans 15, St. Paul writes, "For I will not dare to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to lead the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God..."

Have done good things in your life? Of course you have! But how did you accomplish those good things? Was it through your own efforts, your will, your desire to serve? Yes, but where did all those things come from? Christ Jesus, of course! When we decide to get out of our own way and allow Christ to lead and guide us, amazing things happen. More of that, please!

Father, may your Son Christ Jesus accomplish great things through our "Yes" today. Amen.
