In reflecting upon today’s Gospel (Luke 9: 57-62), when Jesus says, “No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind is fit for the Kingdom of God,” Gus admits the first thing that always comes to mind is addiction whenever he hears that passage. After all, we’re all addicts to sin. Gus asks listeners if they’ve ever struggled with addiction and how that played into their spiritual life.

Also, Paul Linton, special counsel for the Thomas More Society, calls in to the show to discuss some new abortion legislation being proposed in Tennessee and North Dakota that seek to protect their constitutions from anti-pro-life regulations that have affected other states. Also, yesterday, the first American patient was diagnosed with Ebola, which is a deadly virus that have ravaged West Africa. Gus asks his listeners to call in and share their level of concern.
