Gus talks about a situation in Washington D.C. where the Archdiocese of Washington D.C. is trying to purchase ads for display in D.C. Metro stations encouraging people go to church on Christmas but the Metro is refusing to allow them because of their religious nature (see below), which has led to a lawsuit. Gus talks with listeners about this issue and asks if they’re OK with some of their tithing going to an advertising budget.

Later, Gus reads a recent article by Ximena N. Larkin entitled “I’m Catholic and Didn’t Get married in Church for This Reason,” in which she lays out the financial cost of using the church as the source for preventing she and her groom from getting married there. Gus gets listener opinion and asks them if they had to pay to get married in church.
