Gus welcomes Fr. Paul Schneck to the Conversion Corner. Fr. Schenck grew up Jewish and shares his fascinating conversion story, which ultimately led to him becoming a priest in the Catholic Church. To read his “glorious journey,” click here.
Also, Seize the Day was off most of last week when a lot of major news stories broke; several of which had a distinct Catholic angle. To give us an update on the James Foley execution, the Ebola virus and the Vatican’s response to both, Gus welcomes America Magazine’s Senior Editor/Chief Correspondent Kevin Clarke to the studio. Check out America Magazine’s Web site by clicking here and be listening to the Catholic Channel, SiriusXM 129, on Wednesday, September 10th @ 1:00 pm EDT for the debut of America Magazine’s new show “America This Week.”
And since it’s St. Monica’s feast day, Gus asks listeners if any of their children left the Catholic faith and came back. St. Monica’s son was St. Augustine of Hippo who led a very pagan lifestyle as a young man until his conversion to the Catholic faith following many years of devoted prayer by his mother.
St. Monica, pray for us.
