Gus sits down for an extended Conversion Corner with Fr. Jerry Byrd. He called into the show recently as a listener and Gus was so interested in his story that he invited him back for an extended stay. Fr. Byrd is a convert from the southern Baptist faith.
Also, Gus has a lengthy discussion with listeners about the Ebola epidemic that’s broken out in West Africa. The Liberian Council of Churches, which includes Catholic bishops, issued a statement recently that said “God is angry with Liberia,” the Ebola outbreak is a plague and that “Liberians have to pray and seek God’s forgiveness for corruption and immoral acts.” Gus asks his listeners if they believe that God punishes in that manner To read more about the Liberian Council of Churches’ statement, click here.
