Gus talks about an observation he posted to his Facebook page on Sunday where another hymn was scrubbed of its Catholic identity. The word “temple” was substituted for “altar” in “Praise To The Lord, The Almighty.” Gus called it the “Protestantization” of uniquely Catholic things. He caught a little backlash for the use of that made-up word and so explains what he meant by it. Afterwards, he talks with listeners about similarities and differences between the Catholic and Protestant faiths.

Then, Gus talks with Steve Wood about his new book, “Grace and Justification: An Evangelical’s Guide to Catholic Beliefs.”

And, inspired by today’s Gospel reading, where Jesus raised the son of a widow in Nain from the dead, purely out of his gratuitous love, Gus invites widows and widowers and talks with them about the struggles and blessings they received from that experience.
